Organics Section

This position is in the Organics Section of the 23 Avenue Compliance Laboratory located at 2474 South 22nd Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85009. The laboratory technician is responsible for extractions of water and wastewater samples for various parameters for compliance and process control requirements. Other duties include the use of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for retrieving, tracking and entering analytical data;

compliance with safety requirements in the course of routine extractions; and tracking and ordering supplies.

The Water Services Department (WSD) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory Services Section of the Environmental Services Division. In this role you are responsible for monitoring water quality for inorganic and organic constituents in order to optimize plant processes and maintain regulatory requirements. You will be engaged in the physical, chemical, microbiological, or process-related analyses of wastewater samples in accordance with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) policies and procedures.

Salary

Pay Range: $21.02 - $34.25 per hour.

Hiring Range: $21.02 - $25.56 per hour.

  • Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three years of standard laboratory tests or instrumental analyses in a public health, crime laboratory, or utility chemical laboratory, including courses in chemistry, bacteriology, or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
