• Research credit balance accounts to determine proper balance and credit notification to payers.
• Research and review proper contractual and allowable adjustments.
• Follow up with payers and patients to verify address and payee details.
• Prepare refund packets for payers and patients.
• Call insurance companies regarding refund requests to obtain additional information.
• Review accounts for proper payment posting.
• Prepare approved refund spreadsheet for executive review and approval.
• Call patients and/or estates to determine proper refund address and verification.

• Phoenix, AZ

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing/collections with increasing complexity and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of general office procedures and office equipment.
• Proficient PC skills and experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and medical billing software.
• Experience with email and internet usage.
• Experience in data analysis and/or payment processing preferred.
• Detail oriented and able to multi‑task.
• Proficient in accounts receivable and payment posting.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre‑placement drug test and background screen.
• This position is designated Safety Sensitive for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
