Job Summary
This position is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of data processing and data quality assurance activities for the Federally funded National Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program (NBCCEDP) through the Well Woman Health Check Program (WWHP). The position leads continuous quality improvement (CQI) to ensure optimal performance, data integrity, and efficiency. It conducts data quality analyses, presents recommendations to management, provides technical assistance, and coordinates process improvements and systems implementation.
Job Duties- Review and audit claims submitted by contractors participating in the WWHP.
- Investigate medical procedure codes billed to ensure compliance with NBCCEDP policy and procedures and the State of Arizona WWHP scope of work.
- Approve or correct codes based on medical documentation and engage contractors for clarification.
- Develop or update functional or operational manuals outlining established methods of performing work in accordance with WWHP policy.
- Ensure accuracy in daily continuous quality improvement (CQI) of data entry process.
- Train and support team members and participate in weekly huddles and quarterly contractor meetings as a presenter.
Knowledge of
- Medical billing and coding education and training.
- CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes and Medicare regulations.
- CMS Medicaid and Medicare authorized billing codes.
- Microsoft Excel and working with Adobe PDF files.
- Performance Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, and Lean methodologies.
Skills in
- Reviewing and entering data into a specialized system.
- Setting up, manipulating, and editing documents.
- Identifying problems and determining effective solutions.
- Excellent typing and transcription skills with speed and accuracy.
- Presenting information on a statewide level.
- Understanding of medical terminology and data entry protocols.

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Science, Certified Medical Billing and Coding and 3 years experience working as a medical biller/coder. Preference given to candidates with a Medical Billing and Coding Certification.
