Job SummaryThis role performs activities within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Long‑Term Care Facilities Licensing. Responsibilities include issuing and maintaining licenses for facility providers, conducting initial and annual recertification inspections, reviewing quality systems, investigating complaints, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Job Duties- Interpret statutes, rules, and internal procedures for discipline.
- Conduct inspections and investigations to determine compliance with federal regulations, statutes, rules, and internal procedures.
- Prepare investigation reports.
- Attend staff, advisory committee, and stakeholder organization meetings.
- Provide technical assistance to providers and consumers.
- Perform other duties as assigned (5‑10%).
- Knowledge of federal regulations, Arizona Administrative Code, and Arizona Revised Statutes related to licensed facilities and providers.
- Understanding of facility management and operational concepts.
- Familiarity with performance management, continuous quality improvement, and Lean methodologies.
- Ability to review, read, and interpret professional literature and regulations.
- High level of oral and written communication, analytical review, interpersonal relationships, active listening, organizational, evaluation, and education/training skills.
- Travel statewide.
- Adapt to changing priorities and problem‑solve root causes.
- Work independently and perform reviews and evaluate compliance data.
- Support a diverse, multi‑cultural workforce and promote equal opportunity.
Associate’s degree with experience in a licensed or regulated setting, or experience with a regulatory agency. Preference to candidates who possess a professional license in Arizona or proof of reciprocity of an out‑of‑state license (Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Dietitian, Counselor, etc.).
Pre‑Employment RequirementsDriver’s license and ability to travel statewide. Valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to A.R.S. 41‑1758.07 or the ability to obtain it within 7 working days of employment.
