Medical Assistant II‑Pediatrics‑Baseline (11am‑10pm 4/10 Hr Shift)

This position is responsible for providing excellent patient care and experience in accordance with Mountain Park guiding principles, HIPAA, and applicable federal & state laws. The Medical Assistant (MA) II must be able to perform the essential functions of a MA.

Essential Functions
  • Performs and completes clinical and non‑clinical assigned duties, tasks, responsibilities, and assignments in the back office.
  • Applies practice management principles and collaborates with the front office to maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records while ensuring seamless revenue cycle activities.
  • Adheres to procedures for immunization and medication administration, including labeling, storing, and utilization.
  • Performs and adheres to all Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) testing instructions; collects specimens, processes and documents results in the EHR.
  • Fulfills provider orders within scope of practice and provides patients’ discharge instructions.
  • Assists with coordinating the continuity of patient care with internal health departments.
  • Maintains proper levels of supplies in exam rooms and prepares exam room for patient care and procedures.
  • Identifies and reports any safety hazard or potential hazard by directly notifying supervisory staff immediately.
  • Interviews patients to obtain reason for visit, history, and chief complaints; performs vital signs and other patient care needs, documents the same to complete the patient intake process.
  • Utilizes and abides by proper charting and documenting procedures for all patient‑related services, exams, interactions, and assignments performed.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Position Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electronic Health Record experience.
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English or Somali/English.
