Under the direction of the Assistant Director Pharmacy or designee, the Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, effective and cost-effective use of medications through the application of specialized knowledge, skills and professional judgment. Oversees the daily activities of medication use and distribution process in accordance with pharmacy law and accepted standards of practice. Provides drug information to physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.

Education
:

Bachelor's Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm

D) with current licensure in Arizona.

Experience
:

Hospital experience preferred but not required.

Certification/Licensure
:

Pharmacy licensure in good standing in the state of Arizona is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
:

• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with pharmacy staff, nursing, physicians, patients and other health care professionals.
• Must have knowledge of computer software, pharmacy related systems and Microsoft applications.
• Experience with automated dispensing systems (i.e. Pyxis) is beneficial.
• Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
