As our Registered Dietitian Lead
, you will assist with patient care and serve as a training and education resource for the team. Interact closely with our medical providers, administration, nursing staff, therapy teams, and the culinary department on‑site to support our patients. Provide comprehensive nutritional assessments, develop appropriate nutrition care plans, monitor outcomes, counsel patients and families, develop Nutrition Standards of Practice and education material with peers, participate in interdisciplinary health‑care teams, support policy and quality improvement activities, and provide in‑service education.
Three years of acute‑care experience and advanced nutrition support knowledge (TPN, tube feeding calculations, parenteral macro‑ and micronutrients) are preferred and required.
This position is full‑time (40 hrs/week, Monday‑Friday) with rotating holidays and weekend coverage as needed.

PositionSummary
This position leads clinical nutrition, ensuring practice standards are met. The lead manages a complex caseload, develops nutrition assessments, care plans, orders, and monitors outcomes, while overseeing daily operations of the nutrition counseling department.
Core Functions- Provides comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients’ nutritional needs, obtaining and interpreting data using evidence‑based standards.
- Evaluates care plan effectiveness and communicates as a team member to optimize nutrition outcomes. Records plans of care and clinical pathways in the electronic medical record, meeting regulatory requirements (TJC, CMS, state and local agencies).
- Delivers nutrition education to patients, families, staff, and the health‑care team. Serves on system committees to develop teaching materials and in‑service programs and evaluates educational impact.
- Leads the clinical nutrition team, establishes procedures, and acts as liaison between staff and the broader health‑care team.
- Assists with program marketing by building relationships with internal and external customers.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities to improve nutrition outcomes, coordinating projects and programs.
- Demonstrates proficiency and develops training resources for clinical nutrition staff.
- Schedules clinical nutrition staff to maintain coverage and meet system and regulatory requirements.
Must possess knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, having completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics. Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) per the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Effective January 1, 2024, a Master’s degree is required to be eligible for the registration examination. Must hold current registration and maintain ongoing status with annual verification.
Current State licensure is required.
Experience:
three to five years of clinical practice, ability to function independently, prioritize patient load, lead the clinical team, and serve as a resource for issues.
Previous healthcare leadership experience is preferred. Additional certifications, though not required, are advantageous: CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician), CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator), CSP (Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition), CSR (Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition), CSO (Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition), CSG (Board Certified Specialist in Gerontology Nutrition), CSSD (Board Certified Specialist in Sports Nutrition), CCTD (Certified Clinical Transplant Dietician).
Certifications are evaluated on relevance and adequacy.
Additional related education or experience is preferred.
