Overview
Medical Administrative Assistant – multiple Mayo Clinic locations in Arizona (Phoenix/Scottsdale) and broader Mayo Clinic system. This posting is a hub for open MAA positions across Mayo Clinic in Arizona, including but not limited to listed departments and campuses.

- Functions as an ambassador of the practice by serving as a liaison to patients, internal and external referring physicians, and all allied health staff who interact with the department/division.
- Provide superior customer service through handling a high volume of telephone calls.
- Understand the unique characteristics and operations of the department/division to proficiently support the practice.
- Facilitate patient access, respond to patient inquiries, and accommodate referring physician requests.
- Route patient concerns appropriately, perform calendar and schedule maintenance, and handle physician mail.
OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview processes may be used during selection; you may re-record answers. The complete interview will be reviewed by Mayo Clinic staff.
Qualifications- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Minimum three years of secretarial, back office/front office experience in a physician's office or customer service role required.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer experience with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated, able to work independently; able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Exemption Status:
Nonexempt.
Compensation Details:
The starting wage for this position is $21.69 per hour. Experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
