Overview

Per Diem On-Call - Mid Shift at Sonoran Crossing Medical Center. Hours and days may vary based on department needs, including call-outs and PTO requests. PRN staff are required to pick up 2 shifts per pay period, each a minimum of 8 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Admit clients to the hospital by collecting information, completing forms, obtaining signatures, scanning , and updating ADT systems.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate patient registration, prioritizing during high volume periods.
  • Greet patients and the public professionally, providing information while supporting HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
  • Process pre-registered accounts, obtaining demographic, insurance, financial, and medical information per revenue cycle criteria.
  • Obtain signatures on medical, financial, and compliance documents.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork, including patient , and scan documents into electronic records.
  • Adhere to third-party payer requirements, verify insurance eligibility, and obtain prior authorizations to prevent non-compliance and denials.
  • Notify insurers as required, check for medical necessity, and document accordingly.
  • Keep supervisors informed of special cases and problem accounts.
  • Collect payments due at admission or discharge, including co-pays, deductibles, and pre-payments for uninsured patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient satisfaction and maximize reimbursement.
  • Assist with department training as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 6 months of experience in medical office, hospital registration, customer service, or related fields.
