First International Bank & Trust (FIBT) is seeking a Loan Doc Prep Specialist to join our centralized Credit Administration team. This role is well suited for someone who is highly detail-oriented, enjoys working with loan documentation, and takes pride in producing accurate, compliant work that supports lending teams across the organization.
The Loan Doc Prep Specialist plays a critical role in preparing complete and executable loan document packages for a variety of commercial lending products. As this growing department expands its responsibilities, this position will also support additional pre-close activities and the preparation of Laser Pro-generated loan documents.
Key Responsibilities- Review credit approval documentation to understand loan terms, conditions, and financial components for approved loans.
- Prepare accurate and complete loan document packages that align with approved credit terms and bank policy, including notes, security agreements, mortgages, guarantees, assignments, UCC filings, subordinations, and related closing documentation.
- Identify missing, incomplete, or conflicting documentation and work proactively with loan officers and internal partners to resolve issues prior to closing.
- Support pre-close documentation processes and assist with lowering pre-close thresholds as the department expands.
- Prepare and support Laser Pro loan documentation as part of centralized document preparation efforts.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of loan documentation language and collaborate with loan officers regarding document questions or required changes.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and consistency while managing multiple loan files simultaneously.
- Stay current on lending policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as the centralized Credit Administration team continues to grow.
- Associate degree required.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in lending, loan documentation, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, compliant documentation in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, think critically, and follow through on solutions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with lenders and internal partners.
