The Position:

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and results‑driven Credit and Collections Specialist to join our finance team on a contract basis. This role will focus on managing accounts receivable, mitigating risk, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Type:
Contractor Role (6‑month contract, possibility of contract extension or direct hire after initial contract) Work hour: 40 hours/week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Contact customers to follow up on overdue payments and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Prepare AR aging reports and maintain accurate records of receivable activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Assist in resolving disputes related to invoices, credits, and returns.
  • Escalate collection issues to management or legal teams as necessary.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding account statuses and potential payment risks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in receivable processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience in lieu of Degree will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in credit and accounts receivable.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP systems (SAP ECC or S4 Hana) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Education or Desired License and Certificates:
  • Experience with project‑based accounting and reconciliation, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), milestone‑based customer invoicing etc., a plus
  • Exposure to AR and Cash application within Order‑to‑Cash cycle a plus
  • NACM certifications shall be ideal
  • Knowledge of construction liens in a multi‑state environment shall be a plus
  • Multi state Sales tax experience will be an advantage
  • Prior experience with Airtable a plus
