Vice President, Accounting & Finance Private Equity - Renewables PortfolioA leading private equity investment firm is seeking a high-calibre VP of Accounting & Finance to take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting function for a high-growth, multi-entity power platform with a strong focus on renewables.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a PE-backed environment, partnering directly with executive leadership, investors and lenders, and playing a central role in scaling a fast-growing infrastructure and energy business.
You will not simply be running an accounting function. You will be building it, enhancing it, and shaping it for the next phase of growth.
The OpportunityThe platform is expanding rapidly across development and operating assets. With institutional backing and an active financing pipeline, the business requires a commercially minded finance leader who can combine technical excellence with operational execution.
As VP of Accounting & Finance, you will:
- Build and lead the accounting and reporting function for a complex, multi-entity structure
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting under US GAAP
- Drive improvements in close processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
- Own cash management and play a key role in debt and equity financing work streams
- Lead audit relationships and ensure timely completion of annual audits
- Enhance investor and lender reporting frameworks
- Oversee consolidations, intercompany accounting, and subsidiary-level reporting
- Implement and optimise financial controls and risk management processes
- Partner closely with FP&A on budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual tracking
- Lead ERP implementation, aligning chart of accounts and entity hierarchies
- Support transaction activity including due diligence and post-acquisition integration
You will manage and mentor a small, high-performing team while leveraging additional resources as needed to support growth.
The ProfileWe are looking for a technically strong, commercially aware finance leader who thrives in a high-growth, private equity environment.
Key requirements- Renewable energy experience is essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Big 4 background preferred
- CPA preferred
- Strong US GAAP expertise
- Experience in private equity or alternative investment environments
- Multi-entity, complex consolidation experience
- Partnership accounting exposure
- Experience with construction loan reporting and lender reporting
- Strong understanding of controls and audit frameworks
You must be hands-on, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, performance-focused environment.
