FP&A Manager - Operations Business Partner

About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a long-standing manufacturing client that's seeking a Finance Manager, Operations Business Partner to support their Phoenix, AZ production site. This is a true hands-on, build-from-the-ground-up opportunity at the plant level. You'll step into a newly created role with the autonomy to establish reporting, refine processes, and partner directly with the Plant Leader to help them own labor, production performance, and day-to-day decision-making.

Rather than inheriting rigid processes, you'll be trusted to roll up your sleeves, pull the data, translate it into insights, and actively influence how the plant operates - not just report on it. It's an ideal fit for an Sr. FP&A professional who enjoys being close to the business, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to make a visible, lasting impact without being over-layered or purely strategic.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A leadership to analyze plant performance and drive financial visibility.
• Lead labor and production reporting, including standard vs. actual variance analysis, efficiency metrics, and cost optimization.
• Evaluate plant utilization, labor efficiency, and production KPIs to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support the monthly FP&A cycle - forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Develop and automate reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, ERP dashboards) to streamline site-level financial insights.
• Collaborate with Operations leadership to optimize labor allocation, overhead absorption, and production output.
• Provide actionable financial recommendations to improve operational decision-making.
• Play an active role in culture integration and process transformation as the organization evolves its plant-level and corporate alignment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of FP&A experience with a focus on operations, manufacturing, or production finance.
• Hands-on experience with labor reporting, production cost analysis, and standard vs. actual costing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing efficiency metrics (yield, throughput, labor productivity, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to partner with plant and operations leadership to drive financial and process improvements.
• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems and Power BI or similar visualization tools preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills - able to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
• Team-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment.
