Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

The Controller will play a vital role in managing the financial health of a family-owned manufacturing company with a strong history of stability and growth. This position is suited for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and can effectively lead a small team. The Controller will oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with industry regulations.

This role presents both challenges and opportunities, particularly in managing high transaction volumes with limited resources. The ideal candidate will contribute to the company's ongoing success while fostering a collaborative team culture.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Handle job cost accounting, work-in-progress, and cost-to-complete reporting
• Ensure proper revenue recognition for construction projects
• Support cash flow forecasting and bank reconciliations
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Coordinate with auditors, tax firms, and outside accountants
• Track and enter job cost data, providing daily reports to managers
• Work with project managers to resolve cost, billing, and collection issues
• Support AIA billing, collections, retainage, change orders, and lien releases
• Partner with production and operations to maintain accurate financial data

Controller Requirements:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Current title as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;
  Master's degree is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Experience in the construction or manufacturing industries
• Titan software experience is preferred
