SummaryAt APS, our Grant Accountants play a vital role in ensuring financial integrity and compliance for grant-funded projects. This position supports our mission by delivering accurate reporting and maintaining strong fiscal controls that enable impactful programs and initiatives.
What your day would be like- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports in alignment with professional accounting standards.
- Manage complex accounting activities
, including cost distribution and system maintenance for grant-related accounts. - Resolve advanced financial issues with broad scope and high impact, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with senior staff and management
, providing insights and recommendations on grant budgets and expenditures. - Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all accounting practices.
- Experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of GAAP and grant accounting principles.
- Analytical thinker skilled in problem-solving and handling complex financial scenarios.
- Detail-oriented professional with expertise in preparing accurate reports and maintaining robust systems.
- Collaborative communicator who can work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Proactive and adaptable
, able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- BS degree in accounting, finance or related field
- And three (3) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA, MS in Accounting and/or CPA certification preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of computer spreadsheet and word processing software programs (Microsoft Office).
