The Kostelic Agency is exclusively conducting a search for a private equity‑backed leader in transportation and logistics services, offering a rare opportunity for a visionary CPA to join a rapidly scaling organization as a Corporate Controller. With $150M in FY2024 revenue and an ambitious trajectory to reach $500M by ~2031 through strategic acquisitions (roughly 4 annually), this company is redefining its industry with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and operational efficiency.
For an exceptional leader who drives transformative results, this role offers a potential path to the CFO position following a future exit in approximately 5–7 years.
In this high‑impact, hands‑on role, you’ll lead financial operations, oversee four regional controllers, and drive the financial strategy for a high‑growth business. You’ll spearhead acquisition integrations, optimize financial systems, and play a pivotal role in preparing for an exit down the road.
This is more than a job—it’s a career‑defining opportunity to shape the financial future of a market leader. You’ll work closely with a dynamic CFO and operations team, mentor a talented group of regional controllers, and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment that champions growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities- Take full ownership of corporate accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, and cash flow management, ensuring U.S. GAAP compliance.
- Lead revenue recognition and purchase price allocations for acquisitions, integrating new entities into financial systems and processes.
- Mentor and develop four regional controllers across multiple locations, fostering accountability and scalability without “jumping in” to perform their tasks.
- Optimize financial systems and processes, enhancing automation and AR collections to support rapid growth.
- Act as a visible financial leader, collaborating with operations and the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and data room.
- Implement and enforce robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure audit readiness.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for public accounting roots (Big 4 or similar).
- Active CPA designation (required) with deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition, and complex audits.
- Proven ability to lead multi‑location teams and manage financial integrations in a high‑growth or PE‑backed environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a hands‑on approach and strategic vision.
Join a collaborative, growth‑oriented team where your expertise will drive transformative acquisitions and position you for a potential CFO role. Surrounded by top‑tier professionals in a PE‑backed environment, you’ll have the chance to earn significant equity and make a lasting impact on an industry leader poised for a $500M milestone by ~2031. With comprehensive benefits, a performance‑based bonus, and a clear career trajectory, this is an opportunity to accelerate your career and redefine financial leadership.
