Assistant Controller

Vaco is partnering with a company located in North Phoenix to find an Assistant Controller. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the company as well as high visibility to the executive team. The Assistant Controller will oversee month‑end close, ensure compliance with GAAP, and manage key accounting functions, including AP, AR, and financial reporting.

• Financial Reporting & Close:
  Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• General Ledger Oversight:
  Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Internal Controls & Compliance:
  Assist with maintaining internal controls, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Process Improvement & Team Support:
  Help streamline accounting processes, implement system improvements, and provide guidance or supervision to accounting staff.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 6+ years of accounting experience required.
• 2+ years of management background is required.
• Ability to work onsite in Phoenix five days per week.

Compensation: $115k-130k base salary DOE

Location: North Phoenix, AZ (local candidates only)
