Vaco has partnered with a growing, well-established company to hire an Assistant Controller as part of its finance leadership team.

The Assistant Controller will oversee month-end close, ensure compliance with GAAP, and manage key accounting functions, including AP, AR, and financial reporting.

- Lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strict adherence to established timelines.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities in partnership with finance leadership and operational teams.
- Direct daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and general ledger functions.
- Supervise inventory accounting, inventory controls, and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and proper reconciliation.
- Partner closely with the Controller and senior leadership to support strategic initiatives, financial analysis, and process improvement efforts.
- Assist with internal and external audit activities, including audit preparation, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency through automation and best practices.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to accounting staff, fostering a strong control environment and high-performing team.
- 6+ years of Accounting experience required
- 2+ years of management experience required
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field required
