Junior Underwriter

Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Location:

Phoenix, AZ (Onsite).

Contract:

12+ months with long‑term potential.

• Interview loan applicants to elicit information; investigate backgrounds and verify references; prepare loan request papers; and forward findings, reports, and documents to the appraisal department.
• Review loan papers to ensure completeness; complete transactions between loan establishment, borrowers, and sellers upon approval of loan.

• Analytical Skills – 2 years.
• Credit and Risk Assessment Knowledge – 2 years.
• Regulatory Compliance Knowledge – 2 years.
• Credit reports, Income Verification/Tax returns, Communication tools:
  Outlook, Slack, Click to chat.
• Experience – 2 years of underwriting experience (preferred).
• Problem‑Solving and Decision‑Making: critical thinking, sound judgment, effective problem‑solving under pressure.

  strong verbal and written communication; interact with loan officers, processors, and internal stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail and Accuracy: meticulous review of loan applications.
• Regulatory Knowledge: familiarity with lending regulations and compliance guidelines.
