Senior Operations Specialist – Commercial Loan Servicing
First Citizens Bank – Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – part in-office, part remote)
The Senior Operations Specialist is responsible for providing operational support for the Commercial Loan Servicing business unit. This role handles non‑syndicated, syndicated, and participation loans, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining accurate loan and system records, facilitating funding and payment transactions, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner. The specialist reviews legal loan documentation, manages loan boarding processes, identifies inefficiencies, and may mentor less experienced team members.
Responsibilities- Develops and maintains relationships with internal customers, partners, and associates to achieve business goals and streamline the service experience.
- Manages inbound communications to service accounts, fulfills requests, and resolves issues while maintaining high SLA and QC/QA performance.
- Performs operational tasks related to servicing, boarding, and maintenance for commercial loans, including data entry, legal documentation review, monetary transaction processing, and monthly non‑performing loan reviews.
- Handles legal documentation, creates and updates loan servicing job aids, and prepares payoff quotes and interest calculations.
- Provides knowledge in the area of work, researches and reconciles complex loan information, supports auditors, and maintains up‑to‑date compliance with laws and policies.
Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma/GED plus 4 years of experience in Operations or Customer Service.
Preferred Skills- Experience in servicing and maintenance of commercial loan products.
- Deep understanding of complex commercial loan documents.
- Knowledge of LoanIQ and/or similar loan boarding systems (e.g., AFS, FISERV).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines associated with Service Level Agreements.
- Detail‑oriented, multitasking capability, and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment with minimal oversight.
