Overview

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of attending duties at amusement or recreation facility. Sell and collect tickets/fees, assist patrons, erect, take down, operate/attend amusement booths, maintain equipment; operate rides and games; make change; sell and serve food. Provide assistance to patrons entering or exiting amusement rides. Maintain inventories of equipment, storing/retrieving items and assembling/disassembling equipment as necessary. Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures.

Prepare food such as corn dogs, french/curly fries, twinkies, snickers, cheesecake, cotton candy, popcorn, funnel cakes, and turkey legs for the smoker. Set up – stock/clean and ready for service, tear down – pack up stock and close down booth; heavy lifting and physically mobile; operate amusement rides, games and concession booths.

Follow detailed cooking procedures: prepare corndog batter, fry corn dogs, potatoes, candy, funnel cake, popcorn, and turkey legs according to provided recipes and safety guidelines. Use knives, slicers, and industrial equipment safely and clean all utensils and trailers after service.

Assist patrons with ride safety, operating control consoles for rides, explaining game rules, and distributing prizes. Report any equipment issues to maintenance personnel.

Schedule and Hours

Hours vary. Sample shift: 10:00 am–7:00 pm, one‑hour unpaid break, 35–40 hrs/week. Work may include weekends and holidays and may be adjusted as needed based on weather, event size, or staffing requirements.

Pay and Benefits

Pay ranges from $15.16 to $21.81 per hour, depending on location. No overtime is expected; if overtime is required, it will be paid in accordance with applicable laws.
