, for our US, Phoenix, Arizona location.
The Process Metallurgist provides metallurgical expertise and technical support for mineral processing projects within an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) environment. The role is primarily office-based and focuses on metallurgical process design, interpretation of metallurgical test work, development of process criteria, and support of engineering deliverables for feasibility studies, detailed design, and project execution.
The Process Metallurgist works closely with process engineers, project managers, and discipline leads to ensure metallurgical processes are optimized, technically sound, and aligned with project objectives.
Main functions include, but are not limited to:

- Analyze metallurgical and plant performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Provide technical support for mineral processing circuits including crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, thickening, and filtration as applicable.
- Review metallurgical test work and interpret laboratory and pilot plant results.
- Assist with process design, flowsheet development, and equipment selection for new and existing projects.
- Prepare metallurgical reports, technical documentation, and performance summaries.
- Develop and maintain metallurgical accounting systems and mass balance calculations.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Maintain alignment with project schedules, quality standards, and EPCM project execution frameworks.
- Support commissioning activities and troubleshooting remotely or through occasional site visits.
- Ensure metallurgical processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and recovery rates.
- Liaise and coordinate with clients, project managers, and engineers from other disciplines to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specifications.
- Ensure effective utilization of company resources.
- Accurately mark up designs for drafting personnel.
- Ensure quality standards are adhered to by reviewing work prior to issue.
- Support assurance that the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of process installations comply with safety and statutory requirements.
- Operate within the framework of process contracts under management.
- Identify and manage project risks related to engineering processes, systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Manage schedule, time, cost, quality, and scope for assigned process contracts.
- Conduct all interactions with clients in a professional and respectful manner.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding technical aspects and project progress.
- Coordinate with client discipline engineers to ensure adherence to project and client requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.E. or P.Eng.) registration or eligibility for licensure in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), with the ability to independently manage email, calendar, virtual meetings, and team collaboration tools.
- Experience in mineral processing, metallurgical engineering, or process engineering.
- Experience supporting engineering studies including scope studies, Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), and Feasibility Studies.
- Experience working within EPCM, consulting, or engineering design environments.
- Mass and heat transfer principles and equipment design theory.
