As an Associate Field Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a team member who is self‑motivated, detail oriented, and customer focused. This position is your first introduction into the career of a Field Engineer. You will begin to complete assignments using troubleshooting skills, and projects will advance in difficulty to develop your skills.
This is an onsite role in Phoenix, AZ and requires traveling up to 80 miles to clients’ sites. Some out‑of‑state traveling could be required based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate, install, troubleshoot and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
- Offer effective solutions for system issues.
- Provide turnkey project delivery on small to mid‑level projects.
- Ensure that systems operate properly, including controls, sensors and software.
- Load software, configure trends, alarms and reports.
- Implement time‑management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate and document the status and details of the project to the customer.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.
- Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
- Experience in Building Automation, HVAC controls or related field.
- Experience with building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non‑technical audience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Pay RangeThe annual salary for this position is $54,500 – $76,500. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
