Principal Systems Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ
. Candidate must have strong expertise in MBSE using CAMEO and Sys ML with the capability to model complex aerospace systems and ensure full requirements traceability.

Rate Range: $88/hour to $90/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Developing and maintaining Sys ML–based system architecture, behavioral, and interface models using CAMEO across the aircraft systems lifecycle.
• Translating high‑level mission and system requirements into structured, traceable model elements while ensuring end‑to‑end alignment using DOORS NG or similar tools.
• Modelling system and subsystem interfaces to support integration across propulsion, avionics, sensors, and hardware/software components.
• Collaborating with design, test, and system leads to apply digital engineering practices for verification planning and design validation.
• Supporting integration activities by using MBSE models to identify dependencies, inform development workflows, and assess system readiness.
• Preparing documentation and model‑based artifacts for compliance, safety reviews, and airworthiness‑related program deliverables.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 6+ years of experience in systems engineering with hands‑on MBSE work supporting aerospace system development.
• Candidate must have strong proficiency with CAMEO Systems Modeler, Sys ML, and requirements‑based engineering tools such as DOORS NG.
• Candidate must have the capability to model complex system architectures, manage interface definitions, and support integration activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
