POSITION SUMMARYThe role of an Estimator involves precisely calculating the costs of electrical construction projects and presenting the bids accordingly. To excel in this position, one needs to possess a deep knowledge of electrical construction, exceptional analytical abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple projects concurrently while adhering to strict timelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Examine and evaluate project blueprints, descriptions, and associated papers to comprehend the extent of the job and the prerequisites of the project.
- Prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs using established procedures and tools such as Microsoft Office, McCormick, Bluebeam, or other electrical estimating software.
- Partner with vendors, project managers, engineers, and BIM designers to develop and refine project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Participate in bid presentations and negotiate with clients to secure contracts for electrical construction projects.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by serving as their primary point of contact and building trust through regular communication and follow-up.
- Manage client expectations by setting clear timelines, deliverables, and communication protocols.
- Inspections and visits to potential and current work sites as needed

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical data and translate it into accurate project estimates.

- Familiarity with industry best practices and standards related to project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, related field, practical electrical field experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in estimating electrical construction projects.
- 1-2 year(s) of experience with McCormick, Bluebeam, or other electrical estimating software.
