Hot Foot Recruiters is seeking a skilled Mechanical Graduate Engineer/Plumbing Systems Designer to join a high-performing design team supporting commercial, institutional, and specialty construction projects. This role is perfect for a technically strong professional who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and leading complex MEP design efforts from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of mechanical and plumbing systems across multiple building types.
- Produce accurate drawings and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with project requirements and all applicable codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, LEED, IBC).
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors to gather technical input and present system recommendations.
- Perform load calculations and layout mechanical equipment using tools like Trane Trace.
- Develop narratives and documentation to support design decisions and project objectives.
- Review and respond to submittals and RFIs, and provide support during construction administration.
- Mentor junior design staff and provide direction on technical tasks and deliverables.
- Stay current with product innovations and industry trends through coordination with manufacturers and vendors.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial buildings.
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related software (Excel, Word, One Note, COMcheck).
- Experience with HVAC system design, controls, plumbing layouts, and fixture selection.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for problem-solving in the built environment.
- Familiarity with city, state, and national building codes and design standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and work within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
