As a Data Engineer, you will support moderately complex software engineering initiatives and contribute to planning and execution of large-scale data solutions. In this role, you will analyze engineering challenges, evaluate variable factors, and help drive resolutions that align with established standards, policies, and compliance requirements. You will partner closely with client engineering teams to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure that enable scalable and reliable data processing.
Responsibilities

• Participate in and consult on software engineering initiatives with moderate complexity.
• Analyze technical challenges and provide insights that require evaluation of multiple factors and dependencies.
• Contribute to resolving engineering issues, ensuring alignment with functional processes, compliance standards, and organizational best practices.
• Collaborate with client engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable data engineering solutions.
• Support planning and execution of deliverables within broader software and data engineering programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience gained through work, consulting, military service, or education.

Required Technical Skills

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including hands-on work with Hadoop ecosystems and Google Cloud data services.
  • Experience building and supporting Spark-based data processing and Kafka streaming pipelines in collaborative team environments.
• 2+ years of experience developing real-time and batch data flows using Kafka, Flink, and Spark Streaming.
• 3+ years of experience with data lakehouse architecture and implementation, including:
  • Python, PySpark, Apache Kafka, Airflow, SQL
  • Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, Dataproc, Cloud Composer
• 2+ years of experience with No
  
  SQL technologies, such as:
  • Columnar databases
  • Graph databases
  • Document stores
  • Key-value stores
  • Associated schema and data formats
• Public cloud certifications, such as:
  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
  • Azure Data Engineer
  • AWS Data Analytics - Specialty
