Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to lead our power and transmission line design department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and implementing high-voltage power delivery systems, with a deep understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and utility industry best practices. The ability to manage projects, lead a department, and provide technical expertise is essential.
Experience in substation design, distribution systems, or related MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) work is a plus.
- Department Head: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Project Management: Lead and manage power and transmission line projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Technical Design: Provide expert technical guidance on the design and engineering of overhead and underground transmission lines, substations, and power distribution systems, including equipment specification, conductor selection, and system integration.

Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project outcomes. - Code Compliance: Ensure that all designs and installations comply with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and other applicable standards and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in power system design, materials, and industry trends, and incorporate them into project designs and practices.
- Business Development: Support business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities, preparing proposals, and building relationships with potential clients.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power delivery, transmission, or distribution design.
- Proven track record in project management and team leadership.
- Experience in substation design, site lighting, or MEP work is highly desirable.
- Expertise in electrical codes and standards, including the NESC and NEC.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, Revit).
- Strong understanding of power systems, load flow, grounding, and protection.
- Familiarity with utility coordination, permitting, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
