Job Type: 5-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $29.03 – $38.33/hr (based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: 100% onsite for first 5 months while on contract, 3-2 hybrid schedule following conversion.
About the RoleWe are currently seeking an Assistant Civil Designer to support a wide range of civil engineering projects for renewable energy clients. This is a hands-on role that will support planning, design, and documentation phases on high-impact infrastructure projects.
This position offers an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team on site design, utility layouts, stormwater systems, roadway design, and more. Ideal candidates will have a foundation in AutoCAD and Civil 3D and be comfortable assisting in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design of civil projects including site development, storm drainage, water/sewer utilities, grading, erosion control, traffic control, and related infrastructure.
- Support drawing production and design calculations for complex assignments.
- Create and refine design layouts, mark-ups, and rough sketches.
- Analyze topographical and geologic data, maps, and reports to inform designs.
- Interpret and apply applicable design codes and specifications.
- Complete volume calculations for grading and excavation.
- Organize and maintain revisions, plot files, and project records.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers across disciplines.
- Maintain adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or related field + 2 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree + 3 years of relevant experience; OR
- 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, and Excel.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and design standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
