Job DescriptionCDM Smith is looking for a Structural Engineering Fall Co-Op to join the team! You'll be working with a dynamic team of industry leading engineers on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects. Are you ready to take the next step in your career?
CDM Smith’s structural engineering experience encompasses a comprehensive array of services, including:
- Existing Structures:
- Disaster Response (Flooding, Wind, Earthquake, Snow, Fire)
- Design of Stabilization (Temporary Shoring and Bracing)
- Structural Condition Surveys & Assessment
- Seismic Evaluation & Retrofit
- New Structures:
- Water Treatment Plants
- Pump Stations
- Earth Retaining Systems
- Shallow & Deep Foundations
- Industrial Facilities
In this role you would perform a variety of tasks including: CADD Design Project, will be trained to learn CDM Smith CAD Standards, Web searches and product data updates, Excel spreadsheet development (macro routines, repetitive calculations), Structural library cataloging, Field inspection work, Shop Drawing reviews.
Minimum QualificationsCurrently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Skills and Abilities- Intermediate knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
- Knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering analysis/design software (e.g. Revit, STAAD, RISA).
