Our client is a Global leader in the manufacturing of polyolefin cast films and sheet used in a variety of industries and commercial products. Job Overview

The PDM is a vital member of the product and commercialization team and reports directly to the Manager of New Product Development. The primary role of the PDM is to develop new products for new and existing markets, improve existing products and improve profitability by improving process, performance and material savings. Job responsibilities will include R&D, product engineering, process engineering and applications engineering in support of internal and external clients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop new film products in response to customer requirements.
  • Optimize existing films to enhance products quality and minimize product cost.
  • Develop research plans and film formulations.
  • Oversee production of prototype films, production trials and commercialization of new films.
  • Qualify new materials for new and existing films to reduce cost, increase quality and meet customer performance demands.
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize by importance.
  • Support production and technical managers to optimize manufacturing and improve quality.
  • Provide other internal and external customer support related to film applications.
Job Requirements
  • B.S. in Polymer Science, Packaging Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar is required.
  • 1-5 years of experience working in the plastics industry is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of raw materials, film formulations and the cast film manufacturing process.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Good communication skills written and verbal.
  • Ability to interface with customers to interpret customer requirements and to present product proposals.
