TSMC Arizona is looking for a Hookup Staff Safety Engineer to join our F21 FAB project located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. As a Hookup Staff Safety Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability, enthusiasm, and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values –Integrity,Commitment,Innovation andCustomer Trust.

As a Staff Safety Engineer, you will be a subject matter expert and responsible for the development, implementation and improvement of safety programs across the operation, provide technical expertise in high-hazard semiconductor installation environments, ensuring high-level compliance across all clean room and manufacturing facilities. You will serve as the organization’s primary safety expert, fostering collaboration across departments and offering strategic guidance to enhance workplace safety culture.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in developing, executing, and maintaining advanced safety protocols and programs tailored to semiconductor environments.
  • Develop, implement, and standardize safety policies, procedures, and training programs across projects.
  • Drive safety innovation and culture transformation across project teams.
  • Mentor, train, and support internal teams to promote rigorous safety standards.
  • Actively oversee high-level investigations, providing professional analysis and implementing long-term safety solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan for scalability and seamless integration of safety measures.
  • Serve as an organizational advocate for clean room safety protocols and PPE utilization strategies.
  • Lead risk assessment workshops for complex and high-hazard installations activities.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of safety management experience in semiconductor or construction safety practices.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to train, guide, and collaborate with diverse teams.
    • Advanced risk assessment and strategic planning capabilities.
    • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI requirements, and industrial hygiene protocols.
    • Strong background in hazardous materials handling and HAZMAT response protocols.
    • Knowledge of safety engineering principles in hazardous materials, machine safety, electrical safety, or fire prevention.
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their application to safety practices.
    • Be willing to support international projects, which may include traveling overseas for extended periods (period depend on business need) to assist team efforts.
Certifications
  • Valid OSHA #510 (for construction-related activities) or #511 (for operational activities)
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
Physical Requirements
  • Capable of lifting materials, working on ladders/lifts, and standing for long periods of time
  • May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
  • Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and to adjust heavy objects.
  • The position will come in contact with sharp, hot, and cold equipment, and parts.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator.
  • Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment.

Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix Arizona facility.

Standard Work Hours

Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
