Job Title - Senior Engineer / Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Pipeline and Pump Station

Location - Phoenix, AZ

Job Type - Hybrid, Onsite

Responsibilities
  • Independently developing detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates for pipelines, pump stations, and other potable water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Leading the planning, evaluation, and design of potable water and wastewater conveyance projects, serving as the design or technical lead.
  • Engineering and process design, project coordination, writing engineering specifications, planning work, selecting design methods, preparing reports, and interfacing with the owner.
  • Serving as a project manager on utility projects.
  • Coordinating and directing the work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring coordination and timely production.
  • Engaging in client relations and participating in marketing and design meetings.
  • Conducting work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
  • Participating in staffing and workload coordination to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Tracking project financials and coordinating efforts to meet budget and schedule.
  • Conducting quality control reviews of designs and implementing QA/QC procedures.
  • Overseeing projects from start to finish and ensuring quality is maintained.
  • Planning work effectively and communicating with project resources and teams.
  • Asset management, risk and resiliency consulting and design, and smart water system planning, design, and implementation.
  • Performing other duties as required.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Serving as primary client contact and informing them of project status and schedule.
  • Communicating with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, partner firms, and related stakeholders; conveying relevant information to the community or technical groups.
  • Performing and directing complex studies and investigations and preparing reports of findings.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of applicable industry standards, laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Building and managing training programs; workload and staffing plans; marketing plans and proposal preparation and budgets.
  • Demonstrating advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; a self-starter with initiative.
  • Selecting equipment and materials for projects and approving manufacturer shop drawings as needed.
  • Coordinating work phases to ensure on-time completion within established budgets.
  • Participating in local professional organizations and presenting market-specific papers and presentations.
  • Collaborating with civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD disciplines to produce plans and specifications.
  • Assisting in marketing opportunities with key clients and developing responses to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Providing marketing and support during procurement and execution of projects; developing and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Consistently managing and delivering projects on time and within budget; mentoring staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Network of water/wastewater professionals/contacts.
  • Regional and technical expertise in design of water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, and pipelines.
