Job overview
The EHS Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing all environmental, health, and safety programs at the construction site. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (including OSHA and EPA standards) and company policies to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Qualifications
Education & Related Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of EHS experience in the construction industry, preferably with semiconductor or cleanroom facility projects.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local EHS regulations.
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist with developing, implementing, and enforcing site-specific EHS policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety protocols and conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Investigate and report on incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; maintain accurate records and follow up with corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure site readiness.
- Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with legal and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with construction management, engineering, and contractors to integrate EHS into daily operations.
Nice to Have:
- Certification preferred: OSHA 30-Hour Construction, CHST, ASP, or CSP.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to influence a safety culture on-site.
- Bilingual ability with English/Mandarin or English/Spanish is a plus.
