Civil Engineering Designer

Join Colliers Engineering & Design as a Civil Engineering Designer in Phoenix, Arizona. You will assist in the collection, processing, and evaluation of data and in the initial preparation of technical reports, plans, and other contract documents while gaining practical experience with engineering principles.

• Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
• Develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects, applying changes from redlined drawings, or creating new drawings from sketches.
• Ensure designs comply with company and client production and design standards.
• Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
• Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines, responding to requests for information.
• Conduct field inspections and surveys, gather measurements, photographs, videos, and write reports.
• Research and apply code provisions to design.
• Work with senior engineers to create project designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis.
• Research design options and document findings for the project manager.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, adapting existing designs as needed.
• Assist project engineers and leaders in the creation of designs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 0‑2+ years of related experience;
  Engineer in Training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Interest in Civil/Site Engineering projects; prior experience preferred but not required.
• Strong CAD skills, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydro
  
  CAD, and Water
  
  CAD.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Land Development project experience.
