Pay Rate: $33 – $45 per hour
Position Summary: The Assistant Project Controls Specialist supports all aspects of project controls and reporting, including cost control, scheduling, progress measurement, and change management. This role assists project teams with maintaining accurate schedules, forecasts, and cost reports while ensuring compliance with established project execution plans. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in developing expertise in project controls systems and methodologies within an infrastructure-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with project setup in Enterprise Planning & Controls software
- Input data, maintain logs, and generate reports using project controls tools
- Support development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Assist with cost reports, cash flows, forecasts, and progress tracking
- Support schedule development, logic ties, and resource loading
- Update and document schedule progress and reporting outputs
- Assist with earned value management and progress curve development
- Support purchase order and subcontract review for proper cost coding
- Assist with upstream and downstream change order tracking
- Support material takeoffs and quality checks of project controls deliverables
- Participate in field audits to validate reporting accuracy and processes
- Perform other duties as assigned while complying with all policies and standards
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or applicable professional experience in lieu of degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour safety certification
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6
- Exposure to cost control, scheduling, or project controls in construction or infrastructure projects
- Onsite project and office-based work
- Collaboration with engineering, construction, and project management teams
