As an Associate Structural - Transmission Line Engineer you will support global transmission projects, perform design engineering and analysis, assist with equipment recommendations, maintain client relations and contribute to business development.

Part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects supporting our three market sectors:
Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, Connectivity & Commercial.

• Learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
• Apply standards to assigned tasks.
• Develop knowledge and comply with Black & Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks.
• Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
• Prepare and verify less complex engineering deliverables.
• Research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
• Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Seek guidance from supervisor or project leadership for design and coordination.
• Coordinate with others as assigned by supervisor or project leadership.
• Focus on internal client needs while understanding external client interests.
• Provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
• Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.

• Experience with utility‑scale projects.
• Experience with PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, LPile, MFAD, Sag
  10, or Ultralite.
• Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software.
• Solid experience using EXCEL or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the applicant’s home country or country of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search, etc.).

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
