Traveling Project Manager
Clean Harbors is seeking a Traveling Field Project Manager to estimate remediation projects and manage 1‑6 projects through all phases. The role is primarily remote but will travel as needed, with a typical schedule of 6 weeks field and 1 week home.
Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr – $/yr
Location: Arizona preferred; other West Coast considered.
Travel: up to 6 weeks in the field at one time.
Salary/Benefits: $80,000–$110,000 DOE, annual bonus plan. Health benefits after 30 days. 401(k) with company match. Paid time off, training, tuition reimbursement. Positive and safe work environments.
Responsibilities- Ensure Health & Safety is priority: comply with safe practices, policies, and processes.
- Act as Project Manager for environmental, civil construction, and demolition projects.
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, scopes, and schedules.
- Develop relationships with key customers; understand their priorities.
- Provide engineering and technical support to field service offices.
- Assist with procurement: materials, equipment rental, labor, subcontractors.
- Provide timely information to superiors and subordinates.
- Support proposal preparation, project cost estimates, subcontractor selection.
- Enforce Health & Safety policies; work with Director of Health & Safety to resolve issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering (Geology preferred), Hydrogeology, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines.
- 10+ years project management/estimating experience in environmental remediation.
- Cost estimating expertise; ability to develop and present Project Change Orders.
- Ability to review and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong customer management and teamwork skills.
- Computer literate; proficient in Windows, Word, Excel.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing remedial sites.
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
- Capability to shave for respirator fit test.
- Ready to travel.
- Navigate varied site conditions; walk several miles per day.
- Lift 50 lbs unassisted; wear PPE that restricts movement.
- Workstanding for extended periods; climbing, pulling, carrying, reaching, stooping, crouching.
- Must have good vision, hearing; correct or uncorrected 20/20.
- Maintain clean and organized work environment; facial hair must comply with respiratory protection policy.
