Senior Engineer - Operational Improvement Equipment Life Cycle

Brunel is currently searching for a Senior Engineer – Operational Improvement Equipment Life Cycle
, for direct hire with our mining client located in Phoenix, Arizona
. In this hybrid role, you will engage in virtual collaboration as well as in-person meetings in Phoenix or other mine site locations throughout Arizona.

As a Senior Engineer you will plan, organize, manage and evaluate designated engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases on time and within budget.

• Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects.
• Manage projects and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modifications.
• Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, or existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.
• Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering area.
• Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests.
• May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
• May represent the site on company-sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
• Work on complex issues and implement solutions mostly through the determination of strategy and delegation to others in a functional area.
• Often collaborate with managers and/or functional or site leaders and have some interaction with external colleagues.
• Work under moderate supervision and have some latitude to set objectives, priorities and timelines that may impact department or individual work group.
• Contribute to budget preparation by supplying costs and recommendations.
• Manage appropriate project budgets for consulting services.
• Manage a specific program or project, but typically does not supervise people.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline with 5 years related experience OR Master’s with 3 years’ experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering.
• Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
• Skilled in managing large/complex engineering projects.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

• Experience in a project stage gate process.
• Experience and general understanding of multidiscipline mining projects.
• Experience in industrial and infrastructure project management.
• Experience in mine planning and financial evaluation process.*

  Experience in collaborating with multidiscipline groups to develop comprehensive scope of work.

• Experience in project budgeting and scheduling.

Position offers competitive salary with base pay determined by experience, qualifications, and skills. This position also comes with bonus, benefits, and lucrative retirement contributions. Additionally, this role is eligible for discretionary and incentive payment based on company and individual performance.
