Program Overview

The Linde Leadership and Technical Orientation Program (LTOP) is a 52‑week structured curriculum designed to give broad exposure to all aspects of plant operations. Participants receive technical cross‑training, mentorship, and a sponsor to help launch a management career within the organization.

Base pay range: $85,000.00/yr – $90,000.00/yr

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Estimated start date: July 1, 2026

Responsibilities
  • Operate plant using control systems and physical equipment such as motors, compressors, pumps, instrumentation, and utilities (electrical, water, steam, instrument gas).
  • Assess efficiency and operating capability of plant equipment relating to energy consumption.
  • Make changes to operating modes or equipment to optimize efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot plant process and equipment problems and implement solutions.
  • Utilize control systems and advanced controls technology to optimize plant performance.
  • Train operators in safety and plant operations.
  • Provide supervision of plant personnel or drivers as assigned.
  • Monitor compliance with internal Quality Assurance program requirements and initiate actions to correct non‑conformance.
  • Execute aspects of the Linde Safety Program including training, documentation, inspections, and correction of deficiencies.
  • Monitor plant and distribution costs for alignment with budgets and targets for improvement.
  • Assist plant operations and distribution personnel with day‑to‑day work activities such as operating the plant, taking readings, doing inspections, starting, stopping equipment, filling product vehicles, and performing QA tests.
  • Execute projects in the plant in accordance with budgets, standards, and facility operating schedules. Participate in technical sales and business development activities.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale is highly desirable.
  • 0–3 years of experience preferred; prior internship or co‑op experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skill set.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, strong communication skills, and ability to build productive relationships across departmental lines.
  • Self‑starter, ability to work independently, and participate on cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain results.
  • Detail‑oriented with perseverance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willing to travel to assigned facilities within the region; travel outside the region typically not expected to exceed 25%.
Location & Travel

You will be assigned to a plant location that minimizes the need for future relocation and must be willing to relocate for this program within the U.S. if the need arises. The incumbent will be assigned to the Phoenix, AZ location. Some travel is required to selected U.S. locations to complete assignments, participate in project activities, or for group and individual training.
