* POSITION SUMMARY:

** Republic Services is a leading Fortune 300 Environmental Services company with a strong track record of growth and innovation.  To support this growth, we are expanding our industrial and hazardous waste treatment capabilities with new infrastructure and facility expansions.

Your team leads our new-build and expansion projects from start to finish including site selection, permitting, design and construction management.

With your technical and project management expertise, you will lead multiple projects across TSDFs, 10-day facilities, deep wells, thermal processing, landfills and other treatment technologies.  Permitting is the hardest part of the role, so you will need extensive permitting experience and will also need to be excellent at interfacing with a wide range of external stakeholders (e.g. local communities, elected officials, land owners, regulators) to be successful.

You will also be familiar with facility design and construction management so that you can oversee the team that manages our external design consultants and contractors.

** PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
*** Provide strategic oversight for the design, implementation, and delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
* Lead the overall development and execution of strategic plans for waste management infrastructure projects throughout the US, providing support for our field organization.
* Oversee the design and permitting process for new waste management projects, including site selection, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
* Ensure meticulous planning of project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve timely and cost-effective project completion.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, regulatory and government affairs, and construction, to coordinate project activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
* Ensure the proper interface with regulatory agencies and external consultants to obtain necessary permits and approvals for project development is maintained.
* Support acquisitions as needed for due diligence, capital planning and integration.
* Develop and present reports to all levels of leadership that highlight project: plans, risks, status, budget updates, and any other known variables that may impact project success.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance on waste management technologies, process optimization, and environmental compliance.
* Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and industry partners.
* Work with our internal environmental compliance team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and best practices related to waste management and environmental protection.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

* QUALIFICATIONS:

*** Experience in developing and securing environmental permits for waste facilities, wastewater treatment plants, injection wells, or other RCRA subtitle C and/or D facilities as well as TSCA approvals.
* Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and industry standards related to hazardous waste management.
* Proven track record of successfully leading complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience and knowledge in capital planning, estimating, and modeling projects.
* Experience working in a regulated industry, such as hazardous waste management, environmental consulting, or engineering.
* Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) and industry affiliations are a plus.
* Ability to travel 30% - 40% of the time.
