OverviewThe Honeywell Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) reduces the risk of controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) by providing flight crews with timely, accurate information about terrain and obstacles. Honeywell s EGPWS uses advanced technology, aircraft inputs and proprietary algorithms to predict and provide real-time warnings of potential conflicts with terrain or obstacles, helping to ensure safe navigation and hazard avoidance.
Features include Smart Runway, Smart Landing, SURF-A, and ROAAS to help avoid runway incursions and excursions.
- Develop and implement EGPWS and related avionics solutions that meet performance and safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, hardware, software, test engineering) to develop, test, and ensure seamless integration of systems
- Author high-level systems requirements in DOORS
- Conduct system-level analysis and optimization
- Systems integration, validation, and verification
- Model-based systems design and development
- Capture and manage system requirements with stakeholders
- Ensure system specifications meet safety, performance, and compliance requirements
- Engage in customer interaction as required
- Lead project oversight, mentor and train junior systems engineers
- Coordinate projects and support project engineers with budget and schedule responsibilities
- Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics)
- Minimum of 8 years of systems engineering experience, ideally in avionics, aerospace, or related fields
- Proficiency in system-level analysis and optimization
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Passion for innovation and continuous learning
- Knowledge of systems development lifecycle, methodologies, requirements management, and industry standards
- Experience with system integration and testing
- Familiarity with avionics development tools (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, DOORS, CC/CQ, Team Center)
- Experience leading customer interface meetings and supporting audits, reviews, and certification activities
- Understanding of DO-178 B/C, DO-160 aerospace standards
- Ability to analyze and apply new information quickly; strong multitasking and adaptability
- Experience with EGPWS/TAWS and related avionics concepts (preferred)
