Technical Staff Engineer

Job Summary

Senior Technical Staff Engineer (TSE) supports the Commodity Supplier Assurance (CSA) organization, collaborating with supply chain, program teams, and engineering to drive continuous improvement and risk management for Raytheon and its suppliers.

• Interpret technical data package, contractual, and quality requirements to develop robust processes.
• Leverage supplier audits, assessments, failure reviews, and compliance to solve complex systemic problems.
• Evaluate continuous product/process improvement projects (ZERO, APQP, capacity analysis) and translate strategic impacts into process, product, or training changes.
• Work with cross‑business teams to achieve rapid issue closure using analytical capabilities and communications skills.
• Support work transfer efforts on complex commodities.
• Act as liaison between Raytheon programs and subcontractors on multi‑program disruption issues.
• Contribute to program KPI development and measure supplier quality performance.
• Integrate best‑in‑class supplier quality practices within Raytheon and its supply base.

• Bachelor’s of Science in STEM (Engineering, Math, Computer Science, etc.) and 10 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with 7 years experience.
• Experience with Supplier Quality Management.
• Knowledge of commercial and aerospace/defense regulations (AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, etc.).
• Proficiency with preventive tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, ZERO Defect Plan).
• Experience reconciling issues with CCAs, PWB, wire/cable, electrical items, complex assemblies, castings, machining commodities.
• Experience with SCARs and root‑cause corrective action processes (RCCA).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

• Knowledge of industry technical standards (ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.).
• Certifications – Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ, ISO 9001 Auditor.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• MS Engineering, Technical, or MBA.
• Experience with cables, harnesses, electro‑mechanical assemblies, machined components, and circuit card assemblies.
• GD&T knowledge.
• Root‑cause corrective action expertise.
• General statistical process control knowledge.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self‑managed technical contributor.
