We are partnering with an innovative aerospace engineering organization developing custom battery and control systems for both defense and commercial aircraft
. They are seeking a Battery Engineer who is passionate about advancing energy storage technologies and enjoys hands‑on, impact‑driven engineering work.
This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to own battery design from concept through testing
, collaborate across disciplines, and see their work deployed in real‑world aerospace applications.
- Lead the design and development of advanced lithium‑ion cell and battery architectures to meet demanding aerospace requirements
- Perform battery modeling, analysis, and optimization to improve performance, reliability, and safety
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure seamless system integration
- Support cell‑level and system‑level validation and testing
, including performance characterization and qualification activities - Generate clear technical documentation, reports, and data packages for internal teams and external partners
- Support sustaining engineering efforts and continuous product improvements
- Investigate performance issues and lead root‑cause analysis activities
- Partner with program and business teams by providing technical data to support customer solutions and proposals
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering
, or a related technical discipline - 5+ years of hands‑on experience in battery design, development, or testing (aerospace, defense, or OEM experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of lithium‑ion battery chemistry
, impedance, test methodologies, and common failure mechanisms - Experience working with battery test equipment, data analysis, and technical reporting
- Proficiency with MATLAB and Solid Works preferred
- Strong technical communication skills and a structured, problem‑solving mindset
- Familiarity with FAA or aerospace qualification processes is a plus
