Job function:
Manufacturing and Engineering (Architectural and Structural Metal Manufacturing)
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes related to aluminum extrusion, including billet heating, extrusion, cooling, stretch, cut, aging and fabrication operations.
- Evaluate and improve production methods, equipment, and tooling for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Develop and implement process control systems, including SPC, to maintain consistent product quality.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot process or equipment issues.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and streamline workflows.
- Participate in new product development and launch activities, including tooling design reviews and process trials.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Prepare technical documentation such as work instructions, SOPs, PFMEAs, and control plans.
- Analyze production data, generate reports, and present findings and recommendations to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with aluminum extrusion preferred.
- Strong understanding of extrusion processes, tooling design, heat treatment, and metallurgical principles.
- Familiarity with CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD).
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
