Join the world’s largest HVAC company, named by Forbes as one of America’s Best‑In‑State Employers 2025! Daikin Applied is seeking a talented and eager Manufacturing Engineer. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, this role will evaluate, develop and improve manufacturing processes that support plant management with production and equipment issues. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!

Location

In office, Phoenix AZ

What you will do:
  • Daikin Applied Americas, Inc. in Phoenix makes large‑scale commercial HVAC solutions, commonly referred to as Modular Central Plants (MCPs) and Package Central Plants (PCPs). Each project is unique and based entirely on the customers’ individual specifications. The plants are designed, sourced, built and tested in Phoenix, Arizona and then shipped to the customer’s site.
  • Serve as the liaison between production and engineering. Each customer project is a prototype. Occasionally, issues arise where the design may not be able to be built or function as intended. The production team brings these issues to the manufacturing engineer, who works with engineering to create a viable solution and prevent similar issues on future designs.
  • Develop and maintain production flow. The manufacturing engineer works with scheduling, inventory and production to produce the weekly and daily production schedule, keeping the project on schedule to be completed within the customers’ requirements. The engineer must understand production times and staffing capabilities and manage the physical space of each project on the production floor to allow multiple projects to be fabricated simultaneously while minimizing conflicts.
  • Document processes. The fabrication processes used by the production technicians are documented to enable training of new employees and periodic review of each process for safer, higher quality and more cost‑effective methods.
  • Organize and implement process improvements. The engineer reviews the project build sequence to seek opportunities to remove waste. Process improvements may vary from modification to the current process to tooling that enables the production team to become more efficient.
  • Manage the capital expenditure request (CER) process. In conjunction with process improvements, equipment that will allow increased efficiency is requested from multiple departments. The engineer manages the CER process, which includes sourcing ideas, prioritizing them based on a return on investment approach, and drafting and sourcing approved CER requests.
What’s in it for you:
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage, PTO, 401(k) match, support for community involvement and much more.
  • The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth.
