Join an agile, aerospace-adjacent manufacturer that is relocating key capital equipment from New York to Arizona to expand capacity by early spring. You will be the hands‑on engineering driver who transforms customer concepts into production‑ready reality, all while shaping the processes, tooling, and culture of a brand‑new facility. If you are a humble, team‑first engineer who prefers steel‑toed shoes to video calls, this is your runway to make an outsized impact.
WhatYou’ll Gain
- Ground‑floor influence on facility layout, process flow, and best‑practice culture.
- Visibility with senior leadership during a high‑stakes expansion.
- Competitive salary, relocation assistance if needed, and full benefits (medical, PTO, 401k).
- A collaborative team that values integrity, safety, and mutual respect.
- Translate customer requirements into detailed manufacturing drawings, routings, and bills of materials for metallic and composite assemblies.
- Create and maintain work instructions, tooling needs, and traveler packets in alignment with AS9100‑style quality systems.
- Own engineering change orders and document control actions through the ERP/MRP platform.
- Design fixtures, gauges, and jigs with 3‑D CAD (Inventor/Solid Works or similar) and coordinate fabrication.
- Provide on‑the‑floor support during equipment relocation, installation, and first‑article production.
- Lead root‑cause / corrective‑action activities for nonconformities and customer returns.
- Champion lean and continuous‑improvement projects that trim cycle time, cost, and waste.
- Represent the company with professionalism in technical discussions with customers and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
- 4+ years in precision machining or fabrication for aerospace or defense products.
- Proficiency with 3‑D parametric CAD and familiarity with CAM (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
- Working knowledge of CMM inspection techniques and GD&T.
- Experience in AS9100 or ISO 9001 regulated environments, including configuration management.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑moving setting.
- At ease while donning protective gear and able to handle occasional loads of up to 30 pounds on the production floor.
- Must be a U.S. person (ITAR compliance).
