Our Stationary Engineer performs skilled work in the operation, repair, and maintenance of Hospital Central Plant equipment. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and various mechanical systems including pumps, vacuum pumps, air compressors, water softeners, and generators. Ensures continuous and reliable utility services—such as steam, chilled water, compressed air, and emergency power—are provided to support hospital operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Routine operation of Central Plant equipment, such as boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, and auxiliary components for hospital utility services.
- Inspection, maintenance, and repair of Central Plant equipment and its components across the hospital campus.
- Understanding safety regulations and procedures related to Central Plant operations.
- Service and testing of water treatment processes for chemical treatments of systems and equipment.
- Operation of emergency generators and transfer switches to ensure standby power functionality.
Dignity Health offers an Education Benefit program for eligible employees after 180 days, providing debt relief and student loan assistance—up to $18,000 for full-time and $9,000 for part-time employees over five years.
Qualifications (Minimum):
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of experience in operation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and mechanical equipment such as pumps, vacuum pumps, air compressors, softeners, and generators.

Pay Range: $22.95 - $33.28/hour
