Job Description- Responsible for thermo-mechanical design of combustion systems using NX, ANSYS and Honeywell internal lifing methods
- Responsible for developing innovative combustor cooling schemes to develop full-life combustors
- Responsible for proposing new material choices in support of full-life combustors
- Perform stress, lifing, and hot-to-cold deflection analyses
- Develop innovative combustor designs that is resilient to high thermal loads
- Contribute to the development of combustion design methodology and multi-dimensional aerodynamic, heat transfer, stress, for both steady state and transient analysis
- Conduct successful combustion rig tests in support of combustor design validations
- Able to take ownership of combustor design and establish strong working relationship with combustion-aerodynamicists, design, manufacturing, and project groups
- Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
- M.S/Ph.D. in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Prior experience in mechanical design of systems subject to high thermal loads
- Expertise in NX and ANSYS
- Familiar with standard combustor manufacturing approaches
- Familiar with combustor cooling schemes and combustor materials
- U. S. citizenship or permanent residency required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong data-driven decision making skills
- Experience in the design of combustion systems
- Expert in combustor stress and lifing analyses
- Familiar with combustion aerodynamics
- Experience in CFD analysis
- Strong hot-section manufacturing background
- Evidence of strong communication skills, both written and oral, including presentation of technical papers in conferences
