This role offers a hybrid work arrangement—three days a week in the office and two days remote.
It provides the opportunity to apply and expand knowledge in transmission line engineering, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles.
Responsibilities- Design transmission lines in the 69 kV to 500 kV range.
- Perform cost analyses, develop design criteria, route and sit transmission lines.
- Conduct conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies.
- Work with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
- Direct a small project team.
- Work with experienced engineers and mentor less experienced staff.
- Collaborate with a diverse client base and cross‑functional project teams.
- Travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings.
- Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.

Essential Skills and Experience- Degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
- Proficiency with PLS‑CADD software to review transmission line models.
- 7 or more years of experience on project teams, managing schedules and budgets for diverse transmission assignments.
- Knowledge of right‑of‑way requirements, conductor sag/tension calculations, and construction documentation.
- Experience with design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and models.
- Ability to write and support engineering calculation documentation.
- Familiarity with design codes such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Current PE license or ability to obtain one within one year.
- Experience developing engineering proposals and cost estimates.
- Experience with scheduling.
- Proficiency with PLS‑TOWER, SAG
10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, or Micro Station.
